I have Yankee roots and I was born and raised in New England, Connecticut to be specific. I’ve lived south of the Mason-Dixon line since I began attending Liberty University in the fall of 2004. I may be biased but in my opinion, Virginia has nothing on New England when it comes to the beauty of the fall season. On the other hand, spring in Virginia is absolutely breathtaking. It is literally one of my favorite things about living in the this state!
You know spring has truly arrived when the flowering trees come alive! Pops of color with green peeking here and there among the leftovers of barren winter are the calling card of spring’s entrance. In downtown Lynchburg, Court Street seems to have the largest concentration of flowering plants – mostly pink in color but purple and yellow abounded as well. Old City Cemetery is another fantastic place to photograph in any season because it never looks that same and so we finished up their evening session by the reflecting pool there.
Easy going, fun and vibrant – Nick and Hannah are a transplanted California couple who were perfect to photograph with the blossoms as the backdrop. Color was all over this shoot and if you look carefully – even in Nick’s socks! He LOVES bright socks – pink was the color of the day so he matched well!
